M'sia escapade/ 11:52 PM

The M'sia trip was a nice, refreshing and well-deserved break. The discussions and planning were done way ahead in Sept but the trip became more realistic only in the 2nd-3rd week of November...that's better than being buried alive by the books and notes I had to face during the mugging period. Yucks!

The group that eventually left for M'sia comprised of Carol, Yi Jun and Jin Hui...each of them being my grpmate for BM212, AB213 and AB214 respectively.

We departed with a one way ticket to KL and settled all our transportation only in M'sia. It was a learning experience sourcing for quotations on coach tickets. We were there on a budget holiday, not there to be slaughtered...navigating around using maps, asking locals for directions were part and parcel of the trip that would serve me well in the next roadtrip...

We had a lot of makan sessions, 7 or 8 meals on the 1st day...the shortcut to gaining weight. Eating from roadside stalls were a norm somewhat. Yi Jun had the liberty to find a small stone in her chendol on the very last day =X...Still, that was a daaaamn sedap chendol ok

Took various types of transports that were available to us. Bus, MRT, LRT, Taxi...but had to walk like crazy since we were on a budget. Walking is good...burns off the fats from the good food from the multiple meals we've had.

I guess didn't gain much from the shopping though. Price not too worth it and it's pretty much similar to Singapore's pricing. Watched 'Twilight' there and it's freakin' cheap! RM9 per tix and RM8.50 for 2drinks and 1 popcorn. Take that singapore cinemas!

To survive walking in M'sia, you've gotta have guts and composure. That's many years of training after walking in JB and Muar. I guess Jinhui, Carol and Yi Jun had a shock on the 1st day. The whole world could hear the gals scream when crossing the road. Haha!

The weather wasn't kind to us in both KL and Penang cos it rained on the 1st days when we arrived in both places. Hmmz, maybe that was a karma payback for me...they ought to have a sign for this at the nasi lemak stall lah. Something like, Warning: Ikan Bilis is NOT vegetarian.

Paying a visit to Guan Yin Temple @ Penang perhaps boosted our good karma and we met a few kind hearted and friendly souls. We approached one lady to ask for directions on our quest to find Penang Laksa. We left after receiving her directions and the most surprising thing was that she pulled over along the way when she saw us walking on the main road, to guide us further and more precisely to the destination. She went out of the way to help us and I truly thank her for that. I truly felt the friendliness and sincerity of Penang.

Penangites (the people in penang) both old and young conversed with me in Hokkien. I've never felt soooo at home with the hokkien speaking frequency since I last spoke to the contractors in my camp during NS days. Hosei lah! Hokkien lang gong hokkien weh! =D

This trip is indeed a great start, and hopefully, to many more impromptu trips to come. Maybe the next one should be one that I can truly hit the (damn) beach, enjoy the sun, sand and sea. Damn sian that I never got to kayak or get into the water blah blah blah. Perhaps the next up should be water rafting, scuba diving, snorkelling or something slightly more adventurous. Still, my bank account will confirmed+chop prevent me from doing anything close in the very near future. *sigh*

The most fun things were done when we were in the hotel rooms by playing really cool games. Heart-attack, name game, would you rather, dai-dee blah blah blah.

And of cos, I'll miss the company, fun and impromptu-ness of the following peepz...
1) Ohnotsosmart-chrysanthemum aka pamela anderson aka jalan perminpin aka roti prata aka watermelon
2) Deepsleeper-eldeweiss aka leonardo dicaprio aka upper bukit timah aka murtabak aka avocado
3) BFG-morning glory aka sarah michelle gellar aka upper thomson aka goreng pisang aka papaya

...those perhaps were the most fun 3 nights of this sem...

the tagboard must be in this format, otherwise will be deemed unusable and ugly, out of place. It must be in a width of maximum 230px; which cannot be any smaller as well.

It has to be a total height of 200px as well, otherwise it will stretch and become ugly. and you can look at the screenshot for reference of how it will look like when it's perfect.
