This is life/ 6:08 PM Today marked the best goal of my life so far. Haha... Sick I may be. I was sweating like mad, panting like a dog after the 1st match while all my other team mates were dry and looking at me in amusement. Yet, it was a perfect pass by Ryan, and almost instinctively, I swerved, turned n gave a semi-volley shot into the top left corner of the post. It was a good combination of power, angle and accuracy. There was also this element of luck that I'm truly grateful for. The keeper could do little to stop that. Everyone was screaming "wah lau eh!" and running towards me to celebrate the goal. It was a beautiful goal no doubt. And I'm savouring every single moment of it. =) 2nd goal was my classic, kick-off half-line goal. I had little intention to shoot until James the joker started his taunting. I took a few steps back before rushing forward to deliver another killer goal that totally stunned everyone. The look at that joker's face is priceless..Hahaha.. This is why I'm looking forward to every Sunday's soccer session. I just have to focus on making that inch-perfect pass, destroying any build up by the opposing team and deliver stunner goals once in a while to remind them what I can do. This is the holiest day of the week for soccer fanatics like us, where we leave behind our unhappinness for 2 hours out in the sun, sweating it out and all in the name of fun with a bunch of great friends. What else can I ask for? Studying in school on weekday nights and weekends. I'm getting used to that... |
