1st day of PA/ 10:40 PM It wasn't too bad considering it's the first day of PA. In fact, it was great! The people I'm working with are fun, lively and funny. Maybe it's due to their age, considering that they're on the average around 27-28 years old. Maybe it's the NBS connection since a few of them were from NBS Marketing too. More certainly, I guess the presence of fellow interns, 1 guy from SMU who's a jolly good fella and also Cheryl, makes life more there more bearable. Afterall, they are suffering the same thing as I am too! Recap of what happened today: 1) Orientation: Some colleagues were late but they're flexible with time. As long as you don't overdo and deliver results, can close one eye. *note to self: hohoho!* And also, little did I expect 3M's office to be so big. From the outside it looks small. I did a quick count and realised there's 200 or more headcount in the office! 2) Product trainings: Completed trainings for Scotch Brite & Nexcare, and Command's training will resume tomorrow. Didn't know they carry so many products under each brand. 3) Briefing of work schedule: It's pretty challenging cos I get to work with all 3 brands! Website conceptualisations, meeting with media agencies, formulating questionnaires, conducting and analysing surveys. Damn, need to dig out that SPSS book and relearn SPSS. zzz 4) Quarterly communications meeting. 1st day at work and we interns had to join the rest of the company in sitting down in the auditorium for 2 hours to listen to their quarterly meeting. Pretty agonising cos I've not really sat 2 hours straight without talking or my lappie to keep me occupied. Still, they treat interns like part of them and it certainly helps to listen from the MD's address to understand the market situation and what 3M's facing, as well as what are they strategies and outlook for the future. 5) After work bball: Played bball though I seriously suck at it. Still, it was nice to sweat it out and I'm contemplating playing soccer during the soccer days and hitting the gym if it's open to me. Tomorrow will be a better day! haha =) |
