Back from the cold/ 8:47 AM "Hello Pinky!" Pinky's my long lost friend whom I had to give up upon enlistment back on 8th April 2005. Now, we're finally reunited. I had great times and bad times in NS...made me look at this world with a different perception and tackle things with a much higher ability of tolerance. Towards the end of my NSF life, countdown didn't matter anymore since it was only a matter of time before my freedom was returned and my mind was more preoccupied with what lay ahead of me after converting to a civilian. Work, Money, Stress - Well, seems like one of the worst thing will be my financial disability or instability that is bound to come thanks to my frivolous nature with regards to my personal financial control. I've gotta do something to that. In the meantime, finding work was not easy as many companies didn't really hire before CNY. Guess everyone's in a party mood and they can save an ang bao or two in the meantime. Sure, I always hope to strike the lottery and have an easy way out. I guess for now, I have to really step up the gas in doing something more practical. Went for 2 interviews yesterday and I was confirmed a position in a MNC. Yeah, it wasn't at difficult as I thought it would be. The 2nd interview was what really got me interested. Abit of sales and HR at the same time. Even though the basic pay is lower, the incentives and the experience it might provide should be more than enough to tip the balance as compared to the 1st job. I kind of screwed up my 3rd job opening which was recommended by my brother to work in a banking and finance environment. Yeah, I know such opportunities don't come by easily but I really do want to try it out for the 2nd job opening. Haiz. I'm guilty of making my bro go through the trouble getting me the job and there I was betraying his trust and having to let him go through another trouble in finding a replacement for me. Damn. When will I ever grow up? As a freshie in the university of life, I really didn't expect that to happened. I'll just treat it as another learning experience. What a way to start my working life. Only the 1st day and resulted in almost a bad blood with my own brother! haha.. My phone just rang and I've got a job. This time, I guess I have to accept it. Not too bad. It's in another MNC working as admin staff and it's quite near my place too. I have to be practical. Need to work on something better than shaking my leg at home all the time. Birthdays - Yeah yeah. Most people I know all have their 21st birthdays this year. Means I'm sort of running broke faster than I expected. Got to know a group of Uzbekistanis (did i get that term rite?) at becca's birthday bbq @ downtown east. Helped them build fire for their bbq and they had their 1st taste at local food bbq style. Hope i played a proper 'ambassador' for singapore..haha.. latest news: i'm unemployed again. think i shall wait a few more days |
