Cooled Down/ 9:53 PM My 2nd post for today. Maybe i was a little hungry and too harsh with my words just now. They say a hungry man is an angry man. Tsk tsk. But again, I mentioned before it's so much easier to be a mean evil man. Truth hurts. Reality's harsh. So, I ain't gonna retract whatever i wrote in my previous post. I think there's really not much point getting all so worked up. I just gotta learn to cool down faster and forget all about it. I'll forget but that doesn't mean I'll forgive. Had dinner with Peng Kiat just now. My buddy since *gasp* Primary 1 ?! Quite good, considering that we studied in different institutions ever since leaving primary sch. When guys get together, there's a high chance we'll share our woes and talk about the shit in our lives, be in inside or out of the military. For soccer, it was fantastic. Lady luck must, on rarest of occasions,be on my side for today. Scored my 1st goal against john - curled my ball into the net while running down the goal after receiving a pin point thru pass from tingshu's friend. 2nd goal was a freak goal. Not the kind of wondergoals I used to score at half-way line. Yewkuan had a good shot blocked by James after he managed to shake Mike off. Mike, being lethargic in the morning, didn't give chase and gave up defending. James came out to block Yewkuan's shot and shouted "Michael! Don't give up!". As he did it, the rebound landed infront of me as I went on to score my 2nd by tapping the ball into the empty net. I tried my best to contain my laughter cos I found James' block damn clownish and Mike's lethargy too farni too. With new teams coming to challenge our dominance in the court, it was the final match between our own guys before we set out to beat the crap out of our opponents. It was an intense match and by no means easy for me to match up against Mike, Detong and James. After years of playing, all of us have developed some telepathy and understanding with one another. With Eugene behind the goal, it was an uphill task for my 'makeshift' team to win. Despite the odds, we continued to press on and fought bravely. Luck shone on me once again as the ball bounced and I managed to control it and run down the right flank. I launched a thunderous right footer to the right corner of the post, scoring my 3rd and final goal. A fine finish for my team who has performed beyond expectations. Though I didn't score any more goal for today, it was wonderful scoring 3 goals and it was my friends who cheered me on "hey! marvin scored a hat trick!" Their words really pressed me on to play to my best and no wonder my legs are soring like mad now. After soccer, went to Kallang Sea Sports Club to sign up for the Kayaking 1 star award course with Mike, Yew Kuan & Wilson. I found it quite fortunate to have such friends around and they were so steady when I jio-ed them to sign up for the kayaking course. All I had was a verbal agreement from them over the phone yesterday and today, we went on to put it down on black and white. Wilson, it's 100% true when I say that I don't have any hidden agendas for jioing u guys for the course. The guys were quite surprised I was suddenly so enthusiastic about picking up courses. I was surprised with myself too. I just want to keep myself occupied while on leave and make my time out here worthwhile. James, my ever-reliable buddy, was always there when I needed to find directions to reach the sea sports club. It's these kind of friends who make my day. These kind of friends that I really feel thankful and appreciated. Don't ever betray my trust. |
