Birthday Celebration/ 8:09 PM For 2 years of my life, I've celebrated my birthday while holding on to a SAF 11B. Last year was pretty shitty cos I had it during field camp. It was 7 days of crap, with more than 5 days experiencing non-stop rain. I felt like shit then, with morale hitting rock bottom. The 1st day was still ok. 2nd day still can manage. 3rd day onwards, our tempers flared, getting homesick and basically, all sort of shit came in. Fortunately, I had a bunch of very good army buddies around. Their presence and celebration came in handy for me to feel so much better. I could still remember Platoon Sgt David asking other platoons to sing the birthday song for me. Lolx..well, that's worth it after being called 蜡笔小新 (yes...don't ask me y he called me tat cos I don't noe either o_O") by him during most of the time in my 9 wks BMT. No cake? Nvm. Got Kong Guan biscuit + water good enuf. It beats most meals I had in field camp anyway. This year is different. Juz a few hours' back, I had dinner with Jing (aka ma/auntie), Becca (新颖) and Peisan (aka pig, my long lost family friend) at IMM's Secret Recipe. I enjoyed their company though the food itself wasn't exactly that nice for me to recommend to others. Thanks gals for celebrating my birthday! Without that, I'd most probably spend it alone at home. I can't really get into the 'birthday mood'. Perhaps it's due to I'm bothered by the fact that I'm still an NSF and I've got another 7months+ to 8months before I can officially slack my life away. Camp matters still sucked but I'm not gonna make that ruin my big day. The 2H guys can't really come out this week cos of various commitments and hence, can't celebrate my birthday. Not that I mind though...it's just I wanna spend some time with them but thanks to my schedule, it's gonna be quite difficult for the next few months. I've got the best present for myself by passing my Class 3 Traffic Police Driving Test 4 days back. I registered with BBDC back in Dec 04'. I completed my Basic Theory in 1 month and after which, I slacked for almost a year before heading back for lessons and completing my final theory in Dec 05'. Driving lessons ended within 2 months and I had to wait from Jan till May for my TP. I think I had to thank my good fortune for I had 2 wonderful instructors who taught me the ropes of driving. The system allocated me into the group that had only 2 instructors, meaning I'd most likely meet either of them unless some others specially book them. In short, I'd save money cos I didn't have to book for them and what's even surprising is that they're both GOLD instructors, meaning the best the centres had...hahaha...My dad deserves some recognition too for he's the one who intro me the basics of driving and coached me for the initial stages whilst I was still in M'sia last year. I'm looking forward to driving on the road with the P plate on the windscreen real soon, hopefully Boonkian or anyone else out there can teach me how to do real-life parking asap. Thanks to all for wished me happy birthday. You guys (and gals!) made my day! :) |
