Hitting 20!/ 7:11 PM 9th May 2006. 20 years ago, I made my 1st cry on earth. Though it ain't 惊天地,泣鬼神 kind of entry to this world, it sure isn't an easy ride either. Before that, I was living in a watery world of darkness, juz before I made my entrance, something told me to follow the light at the end of the tunnel. And *poof*..here I am! Ok, kinda lame for my entry regarding my birthday. We celebrate birthdays cos it's to celebrate our presence, uniqueness and influence we have on this earth. All of us here are miracles! We beat a million others to the destination, undertaking great risks over a period of 10months. We ought to rejoice that we're making a mark in this society! Yet, it shouldn't be all about ourselves. I believe birthdays should also be a mini mothers' day. For 10 months, my poor mum had made so much sacrifices. Tell a lady about weight gain and u'll see her freak out. Being pregnant means having to face that kind of reality, it's real life torture camp for her for the next 10 months of her life. Carrying another life in her womb is such noble responsibility. Tell my dad (or rather, any guy) to look after a thing, they might juz break it, dismantle it or simply walk away forgetting all about it. That's perhaps why women get pregnant and we guys do not. For 10 whole months, mum's lifestyle gotta change, experience mood swings, food cravings, hormone changes etc. To top it off, the final part has 2 options. 1 is to leave a permanent scar on her belly, the other is to undergo 1 hellofapain process until I was finally out. If you think that's the end, you gotta be kidding. Mum's responsibilites continue even after my birth. She frets over my academic, moral education, girlfriends for the next...err...rest of my life? (-_-") Hey, don't forget U've got ah-ma's help too ok ? Lolx... When I start my own family, have my own kid, I know who to look for. Mum will be there on standby =) Hey, I know I've not been an exactly filial kid. We've got our quarrels, we've got our arguments but just for today, we've gotta put aside our differences. I dedicate my birthday to you. Thanks for everything Ma! |
